Concepts and curation for thought-provoking design installations, immersive events and engaging environments.
Since 2013, Carra has created/curated unique and powerful visual stories, thought-provoking design installations, immersive events and engaging environments for industry leaders including 100% Design at London Design Festival, The Food People and more.
All designed to create a positive culture, make a lasting impact, and spark conversation and inspiration, her projects are internationally-acclaimed and have been featured by leading publications including:
Wallpaper*, Icon Magazine, Elle Decoration, New York Times, Archiproducts, New Design Magazine, Homes & Gardens, FT Weekend, Grand Designs Magazine, Despoke, Wired Magazine, Irish Times.
She has brought together new and established future-makers, such as Bulbo, University of Bath, Greenworks, Modern Sprout, Gaggenau and Dornbracht, to explore micro-agriculture in interior design; discussing algae as fuel, vertical planting, hydroponics, UV lighting, automated irrigation, living ‘infusion’ walls for wellbeing, and the use of reclaimed and natural materials.
She has unlocked insights into the magical world of the modern maker, through an immersive installation marrying influences old and new; curating talks, tasks and activities based on traditional and emerging methodologies in design from industry pioneers like Hirsch & Mann, Shapeways, Oikos, OpenDesk and the British Council's Maker Library Network - from paper prototyping, model-making and block-printing to 3D printing, community and connectivity.
She has guided the transformation of a vast industrial London warehouse - Hawker House, home of Streetfeast - into an inspirational foodie-themed event venue for the forward-thinking food retail and hospitality sector, to tell the story and conveyed the vibes of a street food carnival. Engaging touchpoints and storyful details via a considered mix of makeshift and upcycled objects and materials, to complete the upscale attendee experience supported by award-winning Peruvian chef and restaurateur, Martin Morales, and more.
